FAQs about hotels in Brighton & Hove

Colorful by Day and Night

Known for colorful nightlife and traditional English seaside pursuits, Brighton and nearby Hove are the closest beach resorts to London, making them popular end points for classic car runs from the capital. Many end at the racetrack, a few streets from Brighton Marina, Europe’s largest, housing several shops and eateries. Many Brighton guesthouses on Booking.com are also nearby.

Running along the beachfront is the world’s oldest operating electric train, ending by Brighton Pier. Lit up at night and also known as Palace Pier, this city icon houses amusements and rides, and is one place to pick up some famous Brighton Rock, the confectionery sharing its name with an edgy Graham Greene novel set here.

A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style.

Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping center and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. Arts + culture are big in Brighton, and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.

I'm a regular visitor, the live music is the main attraction for me with many great venues. Superb pub culture and selection. Then in the summer months nothing better than a lazy day on the naturist beach, in the evening a few drinks and some great food in the many restaurants and cafes. Best place ever for people watching.

If you are looking for the old type of guest houses, this is the place. The house is old and looks old, some of the doors have space under so anyone can fit anything inside easily. The room had traces of water infiltrations on the wall, the toilet seat was yellow in Room 8 looking as if it hasn't been changed in years. The room is little with minimal space to move. Sufficient for one night but wouldn't book again. Perhaps if they would refurbish the place. Thank you for trying.

Brighton , is an interesting town , however it’s a bit run down and littered . It could do with a thorough clean and more bins should be available to the public. I would also suggest families check the bathrooms of restaurants before ordering food . My favourite restaurant to visit is Casa don carlos and I go there everytime I visit Brighton . Fab Tapas restaurant.

Have been to Brighton many times, and would go more.

Have been to Brighton many times, and would go more. Loads to do, many bars and restaurants. Seagulls can be scary as come very close and will nick your food if you're not careful. Lots of things to do and places to visit. Amusements, if that's your thing and the marina area is lovely. Lots of shopping and a huge array of jewellery shops in the lanes. Good shopping, both high street and lovely, small boutiques. Only downfall, pretty much everywhere, is limited parking and what there is, you pay a lot of money and are rarely near where you are staying. Usually have to do luggage drop off, go find parking and then walk several miles back!

The welcome and the exceptional friendliness of the staff was so very lovely! It really felt like they cared so much about making people's stay the best and most comfortable it could be. The hotel itself was perfect -It felt very safe, which as a solo female traveller is important to me, delicious choice of breakfast, including veggie/vegan options and dark and quiet at night, with a very comfortable bed. The location is great for exploring Brighton and so close to the beach. I would most definitely stay again. Thank you :)

We had a very easy check in, like many Malmaison's the actual hotel is above the main street but this is not a problem. The room was typically quirky but with nice 4* luxuries and touches like complimentary water and a big clean powerful shower room. What really stood out was the dinner we all had, the food was genuinely excellent and given the "chain" nature of the hotel far beyond our expectations. It was not cheap, but given quality was good value.

We had a fantastic stay at Drakes Hotel. It is positioned within easy walking distance of the town centre, the pier and facing the beach. It has very good and friendly staff, a lovely little bar and lounge for guests overlooking the seafront; and the room we had was very reasonably priced when comparing to other Brighton venues. I was informed the hotel has recently been bought and will be refurbishing the hotel, so all the above may well change!

Far and above exceeded my expectations. I chose it because it was the cheapest I found. The price in no way matches the hotel. They could easily charge twice the price. Room was fantastic. Very comfortable. Staff were all lovely. Its serves the best coffee in Brighton. I didn't get a chance to eat in their little cafe but I seen others and the food looked sensational. Lively area and best hotel for walking to the Brighton Centre as well as to gift shops on same road. Brighton Pier is not far away either, and there are many places to eat nearby if you don't wish to eat dinner in the bar/bistro part of Queens hotel. Overall, thank you for a great stay.

Our stay at Ibis Brighton was good: the room was clean, and the hotel is located in a nice area from where you can go around the city just walking. Also the experience with parking was good: the parking the hotel suggest you is 5 minutes walking from the hotel, you can park your car there and at the end of the stay they will apply 50% discount if you show them the reservation.
